I had some Japanese food but unfortunately got food poisoning. Apparently you're around 650 times less likely to get food poisoning in Japan than in the US so I seem to have been unlucky. I had to stay in the hostel for a full day so I didn't get to visit the Kinkaku-ji (Golden Pavilion).
